  • Impact of Corporate Funding

Given our distrust of authorities, we want to hear that we have been deceived by the medical establishment into believing that their advice on fats and saturated fats is based on myths.

The Dietary Guidelines for Americans are revised jointly by the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the Department of Health and Human Services every 5 years. Originally, the USDA was responsible. The US Department of Agriculture represents the interests of the agricultural industry.

In 2002, dietary guidelines report emphasised that total dietary protein as high as 35% of total diet calories would “minimise risk for those chronic diseases”. This was not based on scientific evidence.

A lawsuit forced the committee to reveal that the majority of its members at the time had an association with the dairy industry.

  • What are Fats

The webpage describes how saturated fats and unsaturated fats are named and described.

You may be surprised to learn that the National Academies of Sciences recommend that we consume a vegan diet but deem that it is not practical due to the changes required to our behaviour.

  • Endometriosis in Rural Regions

The December 2024 edition of Blue & White, the St Andrew's College journal, contained an article about Lincoln Peters who was raised in Hillston, a small country town 600 km west of Sydney, NSW. Lincoln attended St. Andrew's College at the University of Sydney starting in 2010. He co-founded Compass Health Alliance located in South Tamworth which is involved in overcoming barriers to providing healthcare services in rural regions.

In the same issues there are articles regarding Sasha James, Chair of St. Andrews College Council, Dr Ragavi Jeyakumar who is studying for a doctorate in Women's and Reproductive Health at Oxford University and Leesa Ronald's Special Delivery novel.

I have more than ample evidence that whole-food, plant-based diets are optimal for our health and are also the best for the environment and for the animals that we share the earth with. This includes endometriosis which I have meticulously documented but it is extremely difficult to find any individual or organisation to even consider the possibility.

  • Kidney Disease and Diet

2½ millennia ago, Plato wrote about the foolishness of eating animals. 500 years later Plutach wrote about the immorality of killing and eating animals who are entitled to life as much as we are.

Many people at the Mater Hospital where I am receiving treatment for multiple myeloma are not only dealing with their blood cancers but trauma of kidney, heart disease and type 1 and type 2 diabetes. Lots of great information about heart attacks and both forms of diabetes on my website.

The treatment greatly magnifies the severity of their problems.

Kidney disease ranks 9th in the cause of death in Australia.

Despite the nasty nature of my multiple myeloma disease, my kidney and heart functions are really good.

There is a really strong correlation between pork consumption and kidney disease. The method of cooking has a big impact due to the increase in serum creatinine with BBQ pig being the worst.

Then there is the additional problem with the appalling method that we raise pigs in confined cages that are stacked three deep. Pigs cannot move or lie down. Their faeces and urine are deposited onto the pigs below through slatted floor boards. They live in a noxious atmosphere of ammonia and hydrogen sulphide.

  • Wise Nutrition Website Introduction

To eat fully consciously connects us to the miracle of all life.

The WHO states the endometriosis is incurable and the cause is unknown. Using references from peer-reviewed medical journals and case studies, I can show that this is not true.

It is caused by an overabundance of oestrogen, in particular estradiol which is the result of a high-fat, high-protein diet as advocated by low-carbohydrate and ketogenic diet advocates such as Dr James Muecke, the 2020 Australian of the Year. Many references are provided on my website.

I have a 150 page, 120000 word website explaining how informed choices relating to the food we consume can result in optimal outcomes for our health, the environment and for the animals that we share the earth.

When I published my book Low-Carbohydrate Mania: Fantasies, Illusions, and Myths, I posted Dr John McDougall a copy to his practice in Santa Rosa, California. We communicated by email for nearly a year. Mostly the correspondence was concerned with the views of William Davis and Robert Lustig. He viewed both with some – let’s say, bewilderment.

Whole-food, plant-based diets without added oils or simple carbohydrates are best for our health, the environment and the animals we share the earth with.

  • Additional Reading

Below is a list of excellent books that examine the advantages (and disadvantages - there are not any) of eating a whole-food, plant-based diet.

Read John Robbins’s incredible story about The Pig Farmer from Iowa that is moving and transforming.

An excellent getting started guide is below. It describes a gentle way of starting by committing to a whole-food, plant-based diet for three weeks. This will give you enough time to start to the health benefits by limiting the amount of changes required. Frequently the changes are so profound that fully embrancing the concept is not as difficult as it first appears.

  • Medicinal Mushrooms and Optimal Health

Mushrooms are the fruiting body of fungi. It is estimated that there are 140,000 species of mushrooms but only 10% are known and named. Mushrooms represent an inexhaustible source of polysaccharides with antitumor and immuno-stimulating properties.

  • South Australia Department of Health – Dr James Muecke Communication

A letter was sent to the South Australian Department of Health on the 11th January 2021 after they declined to investigate the claims of Dr James Muecke, the Australian of the Year in 2020.

He is trying to convince Australians to eat more meat, eggs and dairy to prevent diabetes, diabetic retinopathy and neuropathy.

Australia is ranked number 2 in meat consumption, just behind United States but in front of Argentina, Uruguay, Brazil and New Zealand.

The response stated that they can only address specific cases. The unsubstantiated claims of Muecke can continue to be disseminated to the detriment of our health.

  • Impact of Gluten-free Diets

There is a substantial difference between a standard western diet and a gluten-free diet. If a gluten-free diet is no warranted, a gluten-free diet may have unintended health consequences that are not beneficial as well as creating an additional inconvenience.

Consumption of complex carbohydrates (polysaccharides) and dietary fibre can be significantly less.

  • Wheat and Inflammation

William Davis is largely responsible for the low-wheat, low-gluten diets with the publication of his book Wheat Belly. In this book he states that we live in a ‘whole grain world’ and that wheat is responsible for the majority of our modern illnesses including wheat.

Find out what the role of wheat is in inflammation.
