Parippu Dhal Curry – Recipe
A spicey Tamil Parippu Dhal Curry.
Ingredients
- 2 cups red lentils
- 1 red onion
- ½ tsp tumeric powder
- 1 tsp corriander
- 1 tsp ground red chilli flakes
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 4 minced cloves garlic
- 4 cups water
Method
- Rinse red lentils under running water until water is clear
- Add small amount of water to saucpan and add spices
- Cook for two minutes
- Add rinsed red lentils
- Cook with lid on saucepan on low heat for approximately 15-20 minutes until cooked – ensure that the dhal does not boil over
