Royal Doulton Water Filters
We have use a Royal Doulton water filter at home to filter water from a rain water tank.
We also have a Reverse Ozmosis water filter that is connected to the town’s water supply to filter water.
According the the Centers for Disease Control website filters designed to remove Cryptosporidium are labelled with one of the following. 1
- Reverse osmosis (with or without NSF 53 or NSF 58 labeling)
- Absolute pore size of 1 micron or smaller (with or without NSF 53 or NSF 58 labeling)
- Tested and certified to NSF/ANSI Standard 53 or NSF/ANSI Standard 58 for cyst removal
- Tested and certified to NSF/ANSI Standard 53 or NSF/ANSI Standard 58 for cyst reduction
Reverse Ozmosys filters will remove:
- Bacteria such as Salmonella, Escherichia coli
- Viruses including norovirus and Hepatitis A
- Some chemicals including lead, copper, chromium, chloride, and sodium. They may also reduce arsenic, fluoride, radium, sulfate, calcium, magnesium, potassium, nitrate, and phosphorous.

Royal Doulton Ceramic filters have a pore size of 0.2 microns.
The filters have been tested for:
- removal of 98% of suspended solids
- 99.99% bacteria removal that includes Escherichia coli
- 100% live Cryptosporidium cyst removal
