  • Bacon Causes Cancer – World Health Organization

The World Health Organization (WHO) has classified processed meats including ham, bacon, salami and frankfurts as a Group 1 carcinogen which means that there’s strong evidence that processed meats cause cancer.

Eating processed meat increases your risk of bowel and stomach cancer. Red meat, such as beef, lamb and pork, has been classified as a Group 2A carcinogen which means it probably causes cancer.

WHO gives much stronger credibility to Random Clinic Trials (RCT) that other forms of evidence such as Epidemiolocal Studies.

It is possible to have a very short-term RCT where the participants and researchers do not know the differences in the diet. This can be done by feeding the participants drinks containing a powder with different ingredients that that taste and feel the same for each meal. This is only practical for possibly 3 weeks.

Any longer it can be a challenge. It can be difficult to learn what really constitutes a healthy, whole-food, plant-based diet. It really needs a supportive partner and learning how to shop, cook and manage changes to social interactions. It is much easier if the participants are living by themselves.

Epidemiolocal Studies are just as valid.

  • Fish Subsidies and the Exploitation of the Oceans

80% of the world’s fish stocks are fully exploited or over-exploited.

In 2006, 36% of the total world fisheries catch was destined for non-food use. It was used for fish meal and fish oil for animal foods.

These small pelagic (open ocean), low-value fish form the bulk of fisheries catch destined for non-food uses with the aquaculture sector being the largest consumer utilising 26% of the total catch. These are often taken as a by-catch of fishing operations and varies depending upon location and season. Most of these small pelagic fish (73%) are anchovies, sardines, herrings, pilchards and related fish.

Several species are either fully-exploited or over-exploited, namely Peruvian anchoveta, Alaska pollack, skipjack tuna, Atlantic herring, blue whiting, chub mackerel, Chilean jack mackerel, Japanese anchovy, large head hairtail and yellowfin tuna.

  • Blood Cancers and a Whole-food Plant-based Diet

    My name is Richard Harding.

I have been a Multiple Myeloma patient for 11 years which was diagnosed when 1 was 60 years old. Twice, 11 years ago [2014] my wife, Ruth, was told that I would not be coming home from hospital.

I have been involved with the teaching and the design of diploma and certificate courses for nutrition for two registered training organisations.

After six years of attempting to obtain compliance, we gave up.

I have a 150 page, 200000 word website advocating a Whole-Food, Plant-Based diets with NO ADDED OILS. No dressings. No olive oil, coconut oil or fish oil. (Very important).

Seventh-day Adventists show that Californian Seventh-day Adventists have a much greater life expectancy and a higher level of health than the average American.

  • Academy of Achievement Address 2006 by Professor Michael Brown

In 1985, the Nobel Prize in Medicine was awarded to Michael Brown and Joseph Goldstein "for their discoveries concerning the regulation of cholesterol metabolism.” They wrote:

“If the LDL-receptor hypothesis is correct, the human receptor system is designed to function in the presence of an exceedingly low LDL level. The kind of diet necessary to maintain such a level would be markedly different.”

“It would call for the total elimination of dairy products as well as eggs, and for a severely limited intake of meat and other sources of saturated fats.”

In a speech at the 2006 International Achievement Summit in Los Angeles, California, Professor Michael Brown tells the Academy’s students that heart disease is totally preventable.

“We do not need a vaccine, we do not need a new discovery, we do not even need stem cells. We know how to prevent heart disease and heart attacks right now. The problem has been switched from one of science to one of social policy and human behaviour”.

“And it turns out to be a lot easier to do the science than to change people’s behaviour. The real news is that we shouldn’t really need these drugs [statins]”.

The same conundrum arises with other “diseases of affluence”. Read more ⇒

  • Impact of Corporate Funding

Given our distrust of authorities, we want to hear that we have been deceived by the medical establishment into believing that their advice on fats and saturated fats is based on myths.

The Dietary Guidelines for Americans are revised jointly by the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the Department of Health and Human Services every 5 years. Originally, the USDA was responsible. The US Department of Agriculture represents the interests of the agricultural industry.

In 2002, dietary guidelines report emphasised that total dietary protein as high as 35% of total diet calories would “minimise risk for those chronic diseases”. This was not based on scientific evidence.

A lawsuit forced the committee to reveal that the majority of its members at the time had an association with the dairy industry.

  • What are Fats

The webpage describes how saturated fats and unsaturated fats are named and described.

You may be surprised to learn that the National Academies of Sciences recommend that we consume a vegan diet but deem that it is not practical due to the changes required to our behaviour.

  • Endometriosis in Rural Regions

The December 2024 edition of Blue & White, the St Andrew's College journal, contained an article about Lincoln Peters who was raised in Hillston, a small country town 600 km west of Sydney, NSW. Lincoln attended St. Andrew's College at the University of Sydney starting in 2010. He co-founded Compass Health Alliance located in South Tamworth which is involved in overcoming barriers to providing healthcare services in rural regions.

In the same issues there are articles regarding Sasha James, Chair of St. Andrews College Council, Dr Ragavi Jeyakumar who is studying for a doctorate in Women's and Reproductive Health at Oxford University and Leesa Ronald's Special Delivery novel.

I have more than ample evidence that whole-food, plant-based diets are optimal for our health and are also the best for the environment and for the animals that we share the earth with. This includes endometriosis which I have meticulously documented but it is extremely difficult to find any individual or organisation to even consider the possibility.

  • Samoa and a Whole-Food, Plant-based Success Program

Samoa is small Pacific island nation consisting of 2 main islands with another 2 inhabited islands. Total population is slightly more than 200,000. In 2010, 80% were overweight with 25% diagnosed with type 2 diabetes.

The 2 main islands consist of 350 villages with self-sufficiency being important.

Matuaileoo Environment Trust Inc (METI) introduced their Taiala program in 2018.

This program is an implementation of Colin Campbell’s Whole-Food, Plant-Based program based on The China Study.

  • Kidney Disease and Diet

2½ millennia ago, Plato wrote about the foolishness of eating animals. 500 years later Plutach wrote about the immorality of killing and eating animals who are entitled to life as much as we are.

Many people at the Mater Hospital where I am receiving treatment for multiple myeloma are not only dealing with their blood cancers but trauma of kidney, heart disease and type 1 and type 2 diabetes. Lots of great information about heart attacks and both forms of diabetes on my website.

The treatment greatly magnifies the severity of their problems.

Kidney disease ranks 9th in the cause of death in Australia.

Despite the nasty nature of my multiple myeloma disease, my kidney and heart functions are really good.

There is a really strong correlation between pork consumption and kidney disease. The method of cooking has a big impact due to the increase in serum creatinine with BBQ pig being the worst.

Then there is the additional problem with the appalling method that we raise pigs in confined cages that are stacked three deep. Pigs cannot move or lie down. Their faeces and urine are deposited onto the pigs below through slatted floor boards. They live in a noxious atmosphere of ammonia and hydrogen sulphide.

  • Endometriosis is Curable Without Supplements

The WHO states the endometriosis is incurable and the cause is unknown. Using references from peer-reviewed medical journals and case studies, I can show that this is not true.

It is caused by an overabundance of oestrogen, in particular oestradiol which is the result of a high-fat, high-protein diet as advocated by low-carbohydrate and ketogenic diet advocates such as Dr James Muecke, the 2020 Australian of the Year. Many references are provided from my website.
