Blood Cancers and a Whole-food Plant-based Diet

My name is Richard Harding.

I have been a Multiple Myeloma patient for 11 years which was diagnosed when 1 was 60 years old. Twice, 11 years ago my wife (Ruth) was told that I would not be coming home.

I have been involved with the teaching and the design of diploma and certificate courses for nutrition for two registered training organisations.

After six years of attempting to obtain compliance, we gave up.

I have a 150 page, 200000 word website advocating a Whole-Food, Plant-Based diets with NO ADDED OILS. No dressings. No olive oil, coconut oil or fish oil. (Very important).

Seventh-day Adventists show that Californian Seventh-day Adventists have a much greater life expectancy and a higher level of health than the average American.

I have a book for sale and posters to my website at my local organic shop.

Six people have contacted my to tell me how they cured their “incurable” Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, endometriosis, rheumatoid arthritis and high blood pressure by changing what they eat. (Some people addressed multiple afflictions which is why the numbers do not add up.)

I am not selling anything except for an already proven idea.

The Mater Hospital where I obtain my treatment has 580 patient episodes a month. I am the only person who brings their own reverse osmosis filtered water. Everyone else takes the supplied bottled water that does not even get recycled.

For lunch, the catering supplies ham and salami sandwiches that WHO classes as a Group 1A carcinogen.

Catering also supplies beef and pork that WHO classes a Group 2A carcinogen.

The Featured Posts on the right panel shows as the top link a post titled Introduction. The post shows that Vegan Seventh-day Adventists are the healthiest and have the longest longevity of any population on the planet. Unless diet is addressed, there is no possibility of making any progress on minimising the risk of Blood Cancers.

I have a poster for my website and my book Low-Carbohydrate Mania: The Fantasies, Delusions and Myths at my local organic shop (Organic Feast at East Maitland). Six people have approached me whilst shopping stating that they have cured their “incurable” heart disease, rheumatoid arthritis, high blood pressure and Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes.

There is also a remarkable story accessible by clicking the green “Videos” link that is on the right panel of every page of my website that shows how Katherine Lawrence cured herself of endometriosis in less than 3 months. She noticed a significant improvement in her condition after only a couple days on a strict Whole-food, Plant-diet with NO ADDED OILS.

Two of these people were really angry wanting to know why their highly-paid medical specialists were not able to make any impact on their condition.

Professor Stewart Truswell states the my work is “brilliant” – his words. He does not want to get into a public debate that he cannot win.

My reference manager has over 4000 listings with mostly primary journal entries where I have a copy of the article stored on my computer. All my articles are comprehensively referenced.

Another Featured Post titled Deception from The BMJ states that a press release titled “BMJ investigation questions expert advice underpinning new US dietary guidelines” was a fully funded article by Nina Teicholz who was funded by the beef industry.

My website consists of over 150 webpages and with more than 120,000 words. Most are related to health and nutrition with others relating to the environment, agriculture, philosophy and psychology. Many issues that the ancient Greeks wrestled with are still relevant today.

In The Republic, Book 2, Plato describes a “rustic picture” of a way of life. The inhabitants “spend their days in houses which they have built for themselves; they make their own clothes and produce their own corn and wine. Their principal food is barley-meal and flour of wheat, and they drink in moderation. They live on the best of terms with each other, and take care not to have too many children. […] They will have salt and olives and cheese, vegetables and fruits, and chestnuts to roast at the fire.

Plato continues that those “who want the comforts of life“, will create a state where “living in this way we shall have much greater need of physicians than before. […] Then a slice of our neighbours’ land will be wanted by us for pasture and tillage, and they will want a slice of ours.

Some 500 years later, in Plutarch’s Morals. Vol. V, Plutarch writes at great length against the mistreatment, exploitation and killing of animals – “but for the sake of some little mouthful of flesh, we deprive a soul of the sun and light, and of that proportion of life and time it had been born into the world to enjoy.

A 90 page book WHO’s Guidelines for Saturated Fats: Time for an examination of our values is available that examines the role of corporate funding, medical researchers, the media and government regulators collude to ensure that corporate profits are protected at the expense of our health.

A 97 minute movie is also available that shows some of the highlights of the book. Extensive references from peer-reviewed medical journals are included.

There is a lot of information to consider. Whilst I certainly value the research being made regarding Blood Cancers, until the relationship with diet is better understood then the research will be constrained.

I am hoping that the Leukaemia Foundation finds the material as fascinating as I do.
